2002-03-10 2:11 a.m. They do not label the produce shelves at Giant very well. Especially the part where all the greens are. Like, the bag lettuce/salad mixes. I am always in the mood for some spinach. It's one of my favorite vegetables, since childhood. But there are like three types of bagged spinach. I guess I go for the bagged because it seems cleaner and fresher and it's easier for me not to have to pick out individual leaves. It's a timesaver, really. I do not understand the labeling system at all. For instance, do I read the prices below or above the item I wish to purchase? You'd think I would be able to figure it out through context clues. No luck. There are four teirs and there are prices everywhere and the bags are not even near anything remotely saying the right item. Also, pretty much all lettuces and spinaches look the same and are smooshed together, so it's hard to figure out what's what. I always end up going for the Dole baby spinach because it is always clean and I don't even wash it before it put it in what I'm cooking. I usually wash everything, but I've never had a problem with baby Dole spinach. Except it's like $2.99. I always vow that I will go look at the other spinaches and buy those because they are probably cheaper, but everytime I try to look for the prices, they either tell me it's more expensive or I end up not understanding which label is for what bag of spinach. Giant has never fixed this. It never changes. Months turn to years and I always have spinach problems. There are other grocery chains, yeah. But that's beside the point. My point is, set up a proper labeling system of names and good descriptions, and ALWAYS keep the proper item near that. This will save your customers seconds of torment a visit and in the long run, days and days of their life saved. THIS IS MY PLEA, OH GIANT FOOD. |
