2000-03-21 10:22:14 lotsa stuff today, dairy. first of all it's freeeezing in my office. they're putting in new ventilators and air conditioners and stuff, which involves cutting a GAPING whole in the wall right next to my office, which of course allows the 38 degree air the perfect ingress. ai. also, I think it's time to move to canada. the u.s. is sort of on the downward slope here, let's face it. and canada is definitely going to be the superpower, the one to beat in the next century. first of all they have more fresh water than any other country in the world, and don't think that's not going to be an issue pretty soon. and they no longer export any of it, since sometime last year, i believe. that's enough right there, but now, also, because of global warming (which if you don't think there's already tons of proof of the existence of global warming, you're an idiot) the northwest passage is all of a sudden a reality, and huge shipping lanes are opening up north of canada. and it looks like canada is going to be very willing to fight, militarily or politically for the right to control those shipping lanes. and rightfully so. canada has been pushed around long enough. do not laugh at canada. canada will show you. besides there are whole cultures and ecological systems and animal species which will be totally ruined by the sudden influx of big giant musty oil tankers smashing into everything up there and spitting toxics out all over the place. but we will see. anyways, canada is COOL. canada is the guy who was president of the av club in high school and who grew up to be all big and sexy and rich. also! freaks and geeks continues to ROCK! I LOVE MILLIE!!! is there a millie fan club? i want to be a member. I want to send out flyers and put up fansites dedicated to her. MILLIE IS WICKED COOL. also another cool thing from last night is my friend sam came up to visit and hang out and have some beers. we did the whole Old Friends Who Haven't Seen Each Other in a While Thing; trading stories from B.I.H. (Back In Harrisonburg), chatting about which people we'd kept in touch with, etc. we were in a band together, called Senor Lounge. we weren't too terrible, I guess. we wrote some songs are still pretty catchy and don't seem dated. we had a quick rise to popularity, playing in whoever's basement, then a long slow demise, crashdiving towards graduation, certain band members not getting along quite so well as they ought. it was the last band I was ever in, after that I packed it in. it's too much work, having to depend on all those other people, never mind lugging stuff around every week, scheduling practices, fighting over song structures. that's why I like the writing. when it sucks, which it often does, it's only my fault. there's no ego. and it's easier to schedule practice sessions, and there's a fuck load lot less to lug around. k thank you very much & credits quote: |
