2000-03-06 09:18:35 yesterday I went to the coolest coolest show. it was at the Emerson Majestic and it was called, it was called, something about Moses, hold on I think I still have the program in my bag...yes it was called Walter Robinson's Moses, A Gospel Concert. it was SO GOOD. it was like a gospel opera, kinda, about the story of moses and performed by a community of african-american and jewish people (!). so neat. but it wasn't just gospel music. like there was AMAZING gospel music, but there was also rap (with human beatbox!) and step dancing, and BREAKDANCING WHICH ROCKS and also some musica latina and even some manhattan-transfer type stuff. so neat. and I'm definitely not a bible person, and I'm certainly not anything like religious, but the music was so good and so purely emotional and stuff that if church was like that all the time, I'd probably go every week. because, I don't know, rather than figure out out whether I'm deistic or agnostic or what, I've always just put it all off and not worried about it so much. but if there was a god the only way s/he'd be able to get to me would be through the music. and that's the truth. ok dairy, I'll write more later. k thank you very much & credits music: |
