2000-04-21 09:09:10 the new shoes I bought in ny this past weekend are either the most comfortable shoes ever, or the most annoying and hateful. I can't tell. they don't feel BAD, they just feel different. like I'm not used to shoes feeling. maybe my feet just can't catch up to sneaker technology? or maybe the technology is bullshit. there's this one part that feels odd sort of on the bottom right part of my right foot. it feels like there's something there. it's wierd. here is a picture I took of sneaker (the right one, the one in question) early this morning when I was the first one here and none of the lights were on yet: (please note the carefully photoshopped absence of a logo. thank you thank you. still trying to be advertising free.) so I need to figure out what the deal is. maybe I should just wear them more. this is only officially the second time I've worn them. time spent parading around my apartment going "Look at those fancy shoes!" at the mirror does not count. my mom used to have this friend who she hated. maybe it was a coworker. anyways, I never knew the woman's name, because my mom only ever referred to her by making fun of how the woman talked. my mom referred to her as "Frozen Steaks and Frozen Hamburgers!" I include the exclamation point because that's how it's supposed to be said. and she always said it in a sort of janice from friends type voice. my mom: guess who I saw today? me: who? my mom: Frrrrozen Steaks and Frrrrozen Hambiguz!" for some reason my mom thought this was the funniest thing. I guess the woman had said it one time, or maybe many times. I think the woman was complaining that that was all her husband liked her to cook, or something. anyways, wierd. but also, why I bring it up: this selfsame woman also had another catchphrase, that my mom always said immediately after saying Frozen Steaks and Frozen Hamburgers: Timmy got new neakers. Neakers. I guess this is another phrase the woman said, in reference to her son's new sneakers. I guess the woman's son had at some point referred to his sneakers as neakers, his mom thought it was funny so she repeated it, and my mom thought it was annoying so she repeated it. anyways. I have to sort out this situation with my (s)neakers. yes. k thank you very much & credits music: |
