2000-04-17 14:33:17 my Yes Motion Ideal Weekend Trip to New York. City. 1. In the movie Can't Hardly Wait, the Stoner Guy at the party says "You know who else I like that didn't get much play? Velma from Scooby Doo. She was a fine, fine lady." This weekend, sunday recuperation, watching cartoon network, and episode of scooby doo guest starring the harlem globetrotters. shaggy's uncle makes everyone breakfast, and then it's time for them to go back out into the swamp to look for the ghost. one of the globetrotters says sarcastically: "I can hardly wait." 2. trying on fancy new brand name athletic-type sneakers, I said: "Wow, these make me want to go exercise and stuff." cheryl and jeff turned to each other and both said: "they must be some shoes." 3. mcdonald's mcveggie burgers. if you are a vegetarian in a strange city and you are unsure what your food options are, then certain a mcdonald's veggie burger is a nice thing. it's a nice place to fall back to. a few years ago, "when I lived in london" (someone smack me) I was surprised and delighted to try the bean burgers at burger king. anyways, i'm not sure why they're not on the stick here with that yet, but we did decide to try the mcveggie burger for a snack one afternoon this weekend. here are some similies I came up with this weekend, and they are all related to the unclean, shmappy kind of feeling which is pervasive in new york city when it's humid, especially: a) how i felt after eating the mcveggie burger: "it feels as though some threw a mcdonald's veggie burger off the top of the empire state building, and it landed in my stomach." b) how I felt after a full day of walking around in the misty humid gross dirty subway weather: "i feel like someone rubbed a mcdonald's veggie burger all over my face. c) waking up after sleeping on the floor after a night of too much food and beer and other things, plus don't forget the humid weather: "it feels like I slept on a bed of mcdonald's veggie burgers" 4. I like the kind of friends, like jeff and cheryl, where no matter how long it's been since you've seen each other (@ 8-9 months in the case of jeff, @ 20-24 months in the case of cheryl) hanging out with them still feels like something you do every day. no wierdness. no catching up. just saying stupid things to make each other laugh. those are my good friends. k thank you very much & credits music: |
