2000-04-07 09:44:01 I dreamed last night that I had to run errands for someone, and the main errand was picking up some Fast Food for someone. and I walked into the place, and there were stacks of food in wax wrappers under steaming hot lights, and there were those white and red tiles on the walls, which restaurants have because it's easier to clean the grease off them, and as soon as I walked in the all the bad air that comes from frying hit me like mountains of amazon humidity. so this morning, I'm riding the bus, last seat last row so i can have the window open and it won't bother anyone, plus i'm up against one wall so i can only be nudged by a person on one side of me instead of both. and the bus, the #1, stops in central square and this beautiful girl, this young professional, sits down next to me (!) and pulls out a big greasty (worse than just greasy) mcdonalds bag and starts stuffing her face with breakfast fries, or fried morning tots or whatever they are. and the smell hit me like a car accident and i thought I might throw up right on the bus. right in front of god and everyone. eating ANYTHING, never even MIND fast food, on the public transportation is the grossest, sickest thing in the world, i think. like other people want to see you CHEWING. like other people, who are just trying to get through their miserable little days, want to HEAR you swallowing. and never even mind the germs. Hi, let's touch dirty money and the dirty dirty hand rails and then touch our food? SICK SHIT. if it's germs you want, the public transportation is the place for you. that's why i have to wash my hands so much. but i don't mind. i like clean hands. my final thought, as I got off the bus, was: How can someone so thin and with such perfect skin eat so much fast food? is there some new kind of science going on in her body? will there be articles about her innards in scientific journals? should i be subscribing? where was she putting it all? she just kept eating and eating, all across cambridge and the charles and past symphony. all through the city. k thank you very much & credits music: |
