2002-02-13 4:59 p.m. Yesterday, and I remember this clearly, I used to have a door. This apartment had a door. Through it, I could leave the apartment and enter the outside world. Today, I do not have a door. Things I do still have, for which I am grateful: 1. A working toilet. 2. Running water. 3. A working refrigerator, though sans lightbulb. 4. Genitals. Where my front door used to be there is only wall. Plastered over, it seems, in the middle of the night. I am getting the message quite clearly now. And that message is "Things will just get worse until you use your genius for nefarious purposes." But I will show them all. Today, I have taken apart every electronic non-essential appliance I have in order to begin working on my masterpiece. A time machine, my friends. A machine that manipulates time. With luck and proper amperage, I will live to regret having taken apart my electric can opener for spare parts. Wish me luck. |
