2000-05-05 11:51:14 here are some phrases I like today from different diaries: "I've met his wife. She works at Express and can't put on lipstick." this is probably one of my all time favorite dairyland lines. although I don't condone the letter-writing evilness they are conspiring to do. (see also: "I shall bop all of them on the nose and then run away to the corner." "owwww my middle finger really hurts!!!" "I don't know why today is different from any other day." I like this one because it was recently Passover ("Why is this night different from all other nights?Ma nish ta nah ha laila ha zeh."). Incidently this is also one of my favorite diaries these days. Also look for: "I can't wait until I'm 16 so I can see him everyday." ??? Juh? also, not for the same reasons, but I like this one becuase it's about me and my brother, tangentially. listen. once when I was in college, and I went home for some vacation, my brother and I wanted to do something, so we wanted to see a movie. so there's wasn't anything in particular playing, so we just picked a movie at random. we picked Les Silences du Palais. I have no recollection of the thought process that went into the desicion to see this movie. I cannot remember any review, commercials, or anything good or bad ever said about this movie prior to our seeing it. moreover, I had NO recollection of seeing this movie until jo-e and I went and hung out with cnnlly and skeezix this past weekend and they reminded me. also, i don't actually remember one thing about this movie. I've seen many bad movies. many many bad awful movies. i remember the first movie I ever hated, which was City Heat, starring Burt Reynolds and Clint Eastwood, and I saw IN the theaters when I was TEN, and I knew it sucked even then. but all I know about Les Silences du Palais, is that it was really boring and it was gone from my mind the second we exited the theater. And it's NOT that I don't like "quiet, artsy" movies, because I like L'Avventura. and it's not that I don't like middle eastern films, because The White Balloon makes me want to cry, and the more I think about it the more I liked Taste of Cherry. sorry, but it was wierd and neat. I feel bad for cnnlly, who had to write a report on it. yuck. anyways, that's our movie weekend wrapup. go rent with wild abandon. i got sidetracked. I guess that's it. k thank you very much & credits music: |
